Self-Directed Research
A different way of thinking about your health: you are the director, and the research is your own.
We provide the measurements, the data, and the education. You make the decisions.
Most of us are used to a model where we hand our health over to experts and wait for answers. Self-directed research flips that relationship. In this model, you are the research director of your own health, and our role is to support you with objective measurement, organized data, and clear education — so the decisions you make are informed by your own biology.
We use the word “research” deliberately, but plainly. This is not a clinical trial, and it is not medical treatment. It is the ongoing, personal practice of understanding your own body: establishing a baseline, learning what your measurements mean, exploring wellness strategies in partnership with your own healthcare providers, and tracking how things change over time.
You are the research director
Being the director means the direction is yours to set. You decide what you want to understand, which wellness strategies you would like to explore, and the pace that fits your life. Your measurements and your data belong to you.
You don’t have to be a scientist to direct your own health.
- You decide what to measure, and when
- You choose which wellness strategies to explore — in consultation with your own healthcare providers
- Your data and results belong to you
- You set the pace; this is a long-term practice, not a one-time event
- We organize your information and provide educational context — the conclusions are yours to draw
What we provide — and what we don't
What we provide
- Advanced measurement and assessment of your biology
- Clear organization of your data over time
- Educational context and relevant published science
- A dedicated navigator to help you stay organized and informed
What this is not
- Not medical diagnosis, treatment, or care
- Not a substitute for your physician or healthcare team
- Not a clinical trial or a study you are enrolled in
- Not a promise of any particular result
How it applies
In practice, self-directed research follows a simple, repeatable loop.
Establish your baseline
An objective picture of how your body and brain are functioning today.
Understand your data
We organize your results and provide educational context in a format you can share with your own healthcare providers.
Choose your direction
You decide which wellness strategies to explore, in partnership with your physician and care team.
Track over time
Re-measure at intervals so change is observed and understood, not assumed — and adjust as you go.
Three principles
Decisions grounded in real measurement, rather than guesswork.
Your biology, your baseline, and the goals that matter to you.
A practice you can return to and build on over a lifetime.
Working alongside your healthcare team
Self-directed research is meant to complement the care you already receive — never to replace it. The measurements and education we provide are most valuable when shared with the physicians and specialists who know your history.
We encourage you to involve your healthcare team in your decisions, and to seek their advice before making changes to your medications, diet, or wellness routine. You remain in the driver's seat, supported by the professionals who care for you.
Begin with understanding
Self-directed research starts with a clear, objective picture of where your health is today.
